“Two-spirit” as a word was created by indigenous Americans in 1990. It is based on modern thought, to replace an offensive term created by European colonizers to describe social roles that didn’t fit their idea of gender roles and sexuality at that time. The modern progressive conception of “cis” is also bullshit.
