Perhaps it's that KStew herself is highly polarizing.
How many regular folk can actually comment on her as an actress? In the last decade, 99% of her movies have been tiny mediocre indies nobody watches. Whether they love or hate her, it always seems like most people are responding to KStew's persona and that in turn determines how they talk about her acting.

If you watched the Ricardos, you would agree Jessica was any day better than the torture inducing performance that Nicole gave

Look, the woman's face doesn't move. Even when she's trying her best to emulate Lucy's facial expressions, her smooth, rubbery face just doesn't allow for anything to come through other than a haunting, Halloween mask-esque imitation. Every I Love Lucy scene recreation felt incredibly creepy, like something from a pyschological thriller, and Nicole Kidman had a lot to do with that.
