this is cold_nite, i replied cuz i didnt want some innocent person to follow her shitty advice and negatively impact their career. i mostly feel bad for sandstorm but she needs to learn to shut the fuck up sometimes
i don’t ship it but i’d like to see it happen, their characters are more interesting around each other and they keep dropping hints they’re still on each others minds so the storyline feels unresolved
I find it interesting that many Westerners who are Korean stans feel that Kpop and Kdramas are better than Hollywood by virtue of Korean celebs being less terrible human beings.
Koreans are just better at suppressing the less savory parts of their lives.
For example, whenever a Korean celeb commits suicide, there’s always the same old “there’s too much pressure in this industry” talk but nothing ever gets done. Life goes back to normal in the Korean stan world a week later with some juicy, well-timed K-pop news.
Also, whistleblowers of sexual assault are silenced. Bobby Jung, a producer who has worked with BTS members, was accused of sexual assault after the woman killed herself (Google his name). But, all he had to do to clear himself is say the accusations are categorically untrue and life goes back to normal with him — he returns to work with some of the biggest names in K-pop.
So yeah, I find the Korean entertainment industry just as slimey and sleazy as their American counterpart. However, Korean stans are too nutty about their stars to care.
the whole lance armstrong thing is so wild in retrospect. he was oprah levels of beloved & untouchable, besties w/ all the biggest celebs & power brokers globally, rich af, etc. and then his dumb ass got caught. i need a movie!
