why won't toxic open membership, and in general, why has it always been closed off?
i think i remember something about membership being temporarily open once and 5h stans, if I remember correctly, made accounts specifically to fight ppl in a post lol.
iirc somebellend would always talk about her dad's recliner
they’re just not signed as artists to a US label. they only have a distribution deal. idk about other deals. i’ve never seen someone claim them to be indie artists of any kind now.
iirc rainstormraider's favorite fanfics involve each bts member in consenting, monogamous & legal relationships
iirc babs is mentally stable and stans danny tanner (as evidenced by her new account sagets)
iirc ibby used her status as ontd member of the year to raise money to buy ikea furniture for the local youth center

when membership was open, specifically for a time in 2013 there was a massive surge of bots that would comment one word or a illegible combination of letters hundreds of times within a post, replying to everyone. over time, as open membership continued on and off, by 2014 the bots were even quoting ontders, incorrectly, which is how MET came from MTE, as an example.
in 2013 through 2016 there was a wave of image spam bots that would mass reply to old, ancient, weeks or months or even years old posts with images of the most inane things. i remember newer ontders unfamiliar with superdogbiter/sharktoothdecay had accused them of being a bot because of their constant my little pony, sonic the hedgehog, and other gifs that were contextually abstract from the post at hand, sometimes dozens of them on a page in different threads.

the original mod said they delete comments that denise found problematic. if an ontder comes here and says a comment makes them insecure or cry, they could report it to dw staff, and denise could chew the lead mod to delete it.
conspiracies about comments regarding a specific ontder being deleted surely being a mod are dumb, because if that were true than dozens of ontders would be sharing the mod accounts based off that.
