In my hometown, there was a rich couple named Eileen and Carl. They lived with Eileen's daughter, Dana. The daughter was homeschooled and the family mostly kept to themselves. At one point, they separated and Carl was living in a motel. Eventually the gossip hounds found out the reason - Carl had been having sexual relations with his 15 year old stepdaughter and she was pregnant. She gave birth to a son. Few days after the birth, the girl went suddenly missing. The cops investigated a bit and dropped it as runaway case since they found notes in her room where she wrote she was very unhappy and felt imprisoned at home and wanted to run away. However there were rumours that Eileen was very angry at Dana and was responsible for her disappearance. She also gave up Dana's baby for adoption soon after and reunited with Carl and they started living together again. Many locals believed it was proof they had together murdered Dana. Of course the cops were lazy and didn't do anything. I eventually moved out to a different state a few years after these events. Until suddenly in my old friends group chat, these names started popping up in a frenzy. Turns out there was an attack in Eileen's home a few months prior. Carl was stabbed to death while Eileen was hospitalized for a time. Carl had fought hard to protect Eileen and the attacker's body was discovered a short distance outside his home with many injuries. The body was identified as a teenage delinquent but further checks turned out a shocking discovery - he was actually Dana's baby boy that was given away. The family that had adopted him had lots of run-ins with the law and his adopted parents had died of drug related incidents and he had been living in the streets for a while. The boy had managed to find out his birth records and was said to be angry that they had given him away to a rough childhood while they themselves enjoyed comfortable lives. That was given as the motive for his actions and the case was closed. I had missed all this but now suddenly there was a new development - Eileen was seen in the town by a few people and she was heavily pregnant. The gossip bells started ringing, and the women feverishly calculated the dates and declared - Eileen had probably been raped in the attack and this was the result. Someone whose brother was a cop revealed that sexual assault had been recorded in the investigation report and also why she had been in hospital. Our group is now convinced about the rape possibility and drawing up family trees and making grandma and grandson jokes. I feel sick at their behaviour tbh but not shocked since laughing at other people's miseries was everyone's favourite pastime there. Glad I'm far away now.

considering what a lot of users are into media wise (like viudanegra still holding onto Riverdale or all the Disney adults and Marvel stans), it does crack me up when they act like something like the new Suicide Squad should be dead on arrival or too ridiculous to exist or whatever.

Skincare nonas, as I get older (late twenties now) I’m starting to see more age-related changes to my face. Mostly, my undereyes are becoming more hollow and tear troughs are getting more prominent. It’s not evident from the front until I turn and you can kind of see a “dip” under my eyes. I hate it. Should I get undereye fillers?

I ask bc I went to get preventative Botox at a medspa for my undereyes and when I asked about it out of curiosity the nurse started pushing undereye filler on me, like I really needed it and would benefit from it, it made me kind of sad and self conscious bc I thought it was something only I noticed/cared about and she kept pushing filler like it was a big deal and the hollows were a huge flaw on my face.

On the flipside I have a reputable plastic surgeon who said he would do fat grafting on me, but that’s really expensive right now. Also I feel I’m still too young for a procedure like that. Filler is more affordable but I worry about migration and it costing more in the long run.

I'm very sorry you had to go through that. No one should have to experience what you did and I hope you're safe now. But if you can't have empathy for other victims at least don't speak about them with disdain. We know firsthand how it can destroy our sense of self and have long-lasting repercussions on mental health and while money helps a whole lot, it's not a magic bullet.

And J.Lo with all her resources would have to protect herself from someone who has just as much as her with the added power of being a man in a world that hates women, so yeah, I do think that's a cause for concern.

If JLo was truly in any danger they would stop calling the paps and letting them document their every single move.
