IDK I have mixed feelings on incest. Like...I feel that parental incest is wrong between an adult and child. But when two adults consent to be in a relationship, who are we to judge?

I mean, if we are upset that two men couldn't be married, why would we be upset that a brother and sister couldn't be married? There are implications in both situations of practicing unsafe sex. What makes one situation more acceptable than the other? Is it just a carry-over from the eugenics movement? Do we even need to do this anymore?

As adults, I think they should be able to do what they want.

I do too. The only qualm I have with it is the possibility of children. But other than that, I seriously have no problem with it, but it's difficult to tell people that.

There are no logical explanations. I do find incest disturbing to say the least, but so far I can't condemn it either.

If you take two consenting adults who happen to be both related and in love, and let's say they are not having any kids either, I can't think of any reason why they shouldn't be allowed to... do their thing.

I agree. I don't think there's any valid reason to outlaw consensual incest. The "deformed baby" fears are way overstated, and only exist if incest is present over several generations - and anyway, we don't ban people with genetic disorders (such as Huntington's) from breeding. As for the balance of power, we're allowed to marry our boss, or our teacher... and there's definitely a power dynamic there.

I think "ewww, gross" is pretty much the only reason it's illegal, which IMHO isn't a valid reason. If it were, there'd be plenty of people who wouldn't be allowed to be together because absolutely no one wants to picture them having sex, ever.

Exactly. And if it's consensual and when it's proved that the two persons are just as likely to have healthy babies as anyone else (and who says they want to have any at all?), the only reason it 'should' be illegal is "it's gross, it's not natural, I don't understand it".

Which happen also be the arguments used by people who condemn homosexuality, for example.
