Porn is being re-captured by corporations. Amateur porn cuts into the profits of studios and sites can't easily monetize it, hence the content-purges and switches to verification, which usually means some form of business partnership. With bigger sites (PH, Xvideos etc.) going this route, OF became the home of amateur porn, worse, it syphons away the kind of people who are willing to pay subscription fees. OF had to go, eventually. With companies like Mindgeek nearing monopoly and seemingly run-off-the-mill studios like Bangbros owning 60ish paysites, there's not much room for new contenders in the business. At least I'm sure this is what's going on. The usual explanations of MC covering its ass don't make sense when you consider they have the money and power to cover up any incidents, that the cultural climate has never been so friendly to pornography, that they'd be potentially losing out on shitloads of money if Mindgeek and co. refused to cooperate, that they're still partnering with porn-companies that do awful shit in Central and Eastern-europe.
OF's owner also owns Myfreecams btw. If the goal was to limit sex-trafficking and underage content, I'm pretty sure he'd start with the site that streams failsons banging nervous-looking coked up hookers in hotel rooms rather than the one with $20 tit-pics on it. Thing is, camming sites do not compete with established porn sites and studios.
