The evidence is long gone but years ago there was a dust up in the food blogosphere over a food blogger who lost her husband suddenly. A bunch of fellow food bloggers showed support and solicited donations from fans, like tens of thousands of dollars. I know glutenfreegirl was involved lol, and she misrepresented the widow's financial situation I guess? Because it turned out the widow's husband had life insurance and the woman was nowhere near destitute like glutenfreegirl made it out to be and lots of ppl who donated were PISSED
