I truly think that most vegans are vegan not because they think its inherently immoral to eat meat, but that factory farming is fucked

Meat isn't inherently bad. I was in Ireland and meat consumption over there is way more ethical, there's cows and sheep grazing all over the place instead of gross evil factory farms. Capitalism finds the most grotesque ways to increase profits in all industries, just look at factory farming and palm oil.

lmaooooo at you thinking that Ireland doesn't consume factory farmed meat, it's a highly developed country which uses just as much palm oil as anywhere else in the EU

I’m vegan personally because I love animals and don’t feel comfortable eating them regardless of how they’re farmed, but idc about why others go vegan

I remember on an episode of the surreal life Cory Feldman getting into a big argument with Andrea from 90210 about going veg for animals vs health reasons (he didn’t think doing it purely for health was right) and idt it’s helpful to fight about that stuff

for ppl who argue about vegans caring more about humans than animals--factory farming is also terrible for the humans who work them. many slaughterhouse workers have mental health issues, ptsd, depression from working in bleak conditions. being around all that death on a daily basis will affect you.

The OG vegans did it for the animals, nu vegans do it for the overall environmental impact, in my experience.
