I am pretty sure they used a no knock warrent so they technically could break down the door without saying anything. I am sure the bf was terrified that people just broke in their house which is why he fired his own gun.
Also very conveniently there was no body cam so we don't how the events unfolded. And the cops literally fled the scene after the realized they fucked up. Her bf's 911 call has been released and he had no idea what was happening.
