Yea I can't stand the "rules are rules" mentality. Rules are not written in stone by God, they're guidelines we can change when they no longer make sense. We should use opportunities like this to question and adapt, not blindly follow.

Regardless of your feelings that it’s an outdated rule, currently it’s still against the rules. And she knew this. It sucks but if you make an exception for her rn there would probably be an outcry from other athletes about how they shouldn’t have gotten in trouble for whatever they did.

maybe the inclusion of weed on the banned list should be reexamined, but black people facing consequences for their actions is not racism in itself. there is nothing to suggest that she has been treated any differently than other athletes in similar situations. she received the lightest punishment under the established guidelines.
