yes we need to legalize weed etc etc but like, why the fuck would you smoke before the olympics? how is this the fault of the olympics? the rules are pretty fucking clear
watching ontd getting mad about this stupid olympic drama because the fave™ black girl is going down over breaking the rules and them not being able to scream at a white man is too good
sillyskinny July 2nd, 2021, 11:28 am (local) Track This I understand that people are upset, but rules, no matter how stupid you think they are, are still rules and as a PROFESSIONAL athlete, Sha'Carri should have known better.
Weed doesn't enhance your speed, but it can help you recover, ease pain and mask performance enhancing drugs. It's banned for a reason.
It's also still highly illegal in many parts of the world. This isn't a California amateur meet, it's the Olympics.
Also, rme at twitter bringing up Phelps as proof of racial bias. All they had against him was a pic and his admission of guilt. He never tested positive and was still suspended for a longer period of time than her.
just want to point out michael phelps received no special treatment and was drug tested more than any athlete in olympic history. he even volunteered to allow his urine to be stored and tested for any FUTURE banned substances.
michael phelps should be stripped of his 8,000 gold medals despite never having failed a drug test & smoking pot 7 months after the olympics when he wasn't competing so black twitter, iceytypejim & the muppet looking dipshit can feel better.
xtinkerbellax July 2 2021, 16:12:38 UTC COLLAPSE Yea I can't stand the "rules are rules" mentality. Rules are not written in stone by God, they're guidelines we can change when they no longer make sense. We should use opportunities like this to question and adapt, not blindly follow.
https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/121111031.html?thread=20241105911#t20241105911 ————- Regardless of your feelings that it’s an outdated rule, currently it’s still against the rules. And she knew this. It sucks but if you make an exception for her rn there would probably be an outcry from other athletes about how they shouldn’t have gotten in trouble for whatever they did.
Not surprised the people who are whining about the Shacarri post are the same ones calling people n***ers and using racist dogwhistles like “chimping out”. Just say you want the excuse to be a racist piece of shit and go
maybe the inclusion of weed on the banned list should be reexamined, but black people facing consequences for their actions is not racism in itself. there is nothing to suggest that she has been treated any differently than other athletes in similar situations. she received the lightest punishment under the established guidelines.
