doping is obviously different than partying and the argument being made isn't making her an exception, it's about changing the rule altogether (other than the "well her mom died" people but that's a silly argument).

But if the chemical compound of weed can still help with muscle relaxation or performance anxiety and is banned thusly, why is the conversation about changing the rule happening? There are other banned drugs that do things other than help with doping, but they're still banned for different reasons that can add an advantage. Why does ShaCarri have a RIGHT to smoke weed, lol?

that's literally all bullshit reasoning. it's banned because of remnants of cultural stigma. no one is saying she individually has a RIGHT to smoke weed, they're saying that it shouldn't be held against olympic athletes collectively when it has literally no performance enhancing properties and is actually harmful to athletic performance generally.

how’s it harmful to athletic performance; do you have data to back that up?
