it is true , hwasa/MMM is super popular in korea, like OMG and brave girls, they don't have a huge international fandom

like gfriend when they were super popular with the gp

How'd their most recent release do on the charts? BlackPink are still charting with Lovesick Girls.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
it bombed lol

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
it didn't, pressed blink

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Maria charted well , hwasa had a collab with other artists that lasted a lot in the charts and had paks, hip did great, omg has 2 songs in the charts and one of that is from last year too, and brave girls is killing it.

red velvet's psycho was more popular than any blackpink song too

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
rv has two of the best female kpop vocalists. that song was perfect.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
you are right, psycho was a huge hit

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Red Velvet are largely flops though and they're on their way out for sure lol

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
joy's solo song is performing well. red velvet has alternated between flop songs and very successful songs for their whole career

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
True but they're not bigger than BlackPink and they will probably informally disband this year

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
blackpink will disband before red velvet does. yg is extremely quick to dispose of his female acts

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
We'll see!

Mamamoo's last release was "Where Are We Now" and it flopped. Lots of girl groups enjoy success in Korea, but BlackPink is still the biggest of them all and completely adored there. The denial here is weird lol.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
blackpink is not the biggest of them all in korea. there are a few girlgroups that are pretty much neck-and-neck and hwasa is the most popular female idol. it's not the same as how bts is so dominant for the boygroups. this is the chart of the most popular streaming service

When you take into account the fact that BlackPink are by FAR the biggest girl group globally with the fact that they are also one of the top groups in Korea, these arguments become useless. If they were huge in other countries but didn't do well in Korea it'd be one thing...but they are also huge there. So I don't really see what your point is. They are the biggest girl group in the world. End.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
you said blackpink were massive in korea but they actually aren't more popular than other girlgroups

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
But they are massive, no?? So I didn't say anything wrong?? It's funny how mad you are they're more popular than your flop blackface faves will ever be

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
blackpink are not special in korea

blackpink's turn

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
how were their most recent performances? rose looked like she belonged in a first grade talent show compared to hwasa

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
hwasa is a better singer. much more interesting than rose

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
We're talking about success, not talent. That's not a debate I'd get into. BP aren't that talented. They are more successful than Mamamoo tho.

(Anonymous) 2021-07-23 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
the op wasn't about success right now
