I think it's weird how people still clutch their pearls at the idea of several marriages. Some folks like to be married & when it's no longer fun, they peace out, that's it. The whole ~marriage is supposed to be forever~ thing isn't really a big deal to everyone & I don't get why so many people still act like it is.
Personally speaking, I'm hoping for a divorced status somewhere in my future, I love the sound of it.

Right? I'm sorry I don't stay in bad situations with people because we're legally associated but I'm not actually sorry. My first divorce happened when I was young, but my second divorce in my 30s from someone I'd been with for a decade started a deluge of my friends leaving Ain't Shit Narcissists and partners who suddenly started on Trump nonsense.
Live your best life! I read somewhere maybe 10 years ago that people these days have Starter Marriages where they have kids and figure out what they really want/need in a partner and then find a better fit. FREEDOM!

said whenever they see an old couple who's been together for ages their first thought was "wow, you must've put up with a LOT, sis". Which is usually true, since most long marriages involve the women accepting a lot of bullshit bc we're taught from a very early age that we should make sacrifices and ~endure bc marriage is sacred.

I've worked retail for a long time and I always see older men throwing tantrums when their wives stop to look at stuff in a place that doesn't cater to their interests. You are an entirely grown man, sir. Get. It. Together. They really marry women and expect them to solely tend to them.

then why not just be in a regular committed relationship instead of actually marrying the person???

because they like having a spouse? there are a lot of benefits, including legal rights, with getting married
