sandstorm July 23rd, 2021, 02:57 pm I love his music NEGL. Him as an artist? I follow him on Twitter and still go "Wait who is this. OH." but I don't need to be bffs with an artist to enjoy their music.
lawofcosines July 23rd, 2021, 03:08 pm I know she's bitter because she wanted the Olivia Rodrigo route and the Havana song/visuals was forced to her, but she doesn't even get hits outside of that so...
when did camila ever make pop rock music? do ppl just make shit up now?
I feel like Japan could have had a better representative in the opening ceremony than someone who moved away when she was three years old. That'd be like the U.S. asking Nicole Kidman to represent it. I'm sure they have athletes who actually live and train in Japan.
i could repeat this endlessly but, as a woman, im fr so fucking sick of women tacking on they/them pronouns, esp in addition to she/her pronouns, in an effort to be woke and ~fluid~ when in reality all they're doing is attempting to distance themselves from "traditional femininity" in favor of.... being a "tomboy" lmaoooooo. being a biological woman is nothing to be afraid of and just because you were born a woman doesn't mean you need to change ur entire fucking gender identity if you don't align with society's rigid gender expectations for women 🙄 why don't nb hanger ons just embrace who they are while subverting gender expectations - that would be exponentially more powerful and helpful in the long run!!!! fuck!!!
IA with you nona. It's really obnoxious. Cis people are running around screaming that they are being misgendered and it's really really dangerous and misguided.
People hate on Selena because of the dumbass BLM comment she made earlier but I think she is just genuinely a really stupid person (not smart in the least: book smart nor common sense smart) and didn't know wtf point she was even trying to make. But people hold her stupidity against her because she's prettier than they are even if she's since redeemed herself
I don't think she's that dumb. But she was young and we all make shitty comments when we're young. She's actually been trying the past year or so and I think there's a line and ONTD would lose their mind if they were held to comments they've made through the years.
tbh, I didn't think Olivia Rodrigo would happen. Most of her songs are basic as hell even compared to Camila's new song/video. Then again, a lot of people love Taylor's boring love songs and her etsy/instagram aesthetic, so...
Olivia's team did a splendid job with marketing and the rollout. And TBH, maybe the music is basic but it's also relatable and I think people forget how much being relatable works in people's favor. Like millenials can relate to that pop punk sound they grew up on and the universal message of heartbreak.
One of my best friends is NB/"transman" now, and I find it exhausting to talk to her now. She always has to call everyone ~cis~, and just sounds really cult-y. I feel like I have to either distance myself from her, or tell her I'm gender critical, and don't believe in all the gender woo.
And she calls herself "gay" & "fag", but dates women?? I just can't...

when ppl offer up their shitty opinions about pronouns (a la Demi or Halsey) I can't help but feel sorry as there's probs someone in their life who is under the trans umbrella who feels unsafe sharing it with them
I am sure he feels remorseful since everybody heard about how he lashed out at his ex-wife but if he wasn't caught I am sure he wouldn't feel remorseful about it in the first place.
Japan is way better at cancel culture than we are. They routinely publicly humiliate stars who act offensively and have a strong AF pro-cyber bullying culture to keep celebrities in check. If youre a celeb and commit tax evasion, you have to publicly apologize, pay it back, and put yourself on timeout (no work at all) for at least a year
